Accreditation Matters –
Your Baby Comes First
I am an Award winning, professionally accredited Melbourne photographer based in Officer. I provide beautiful Newborn and Family photography services for Officer, Pakenham, Beaconsfield, Nar Nar Goon and surrounding areas. Below is some information on what to expect for a newborn session and when is the best time to book. When booking your newborn session it is important to note that i am a professionally accredited newborn photographer which means i have passed a certificate in not just beautiful images but also in newborn safety. Your baby will be safe at all times which is the most important aspect of any session.
When Should I Book My Newborn Session?
Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first 17 days of birth when baby is still very sleepy and fresh out of the womb, this way they are easily moulded into those cute little poses that you see in my photos.
After 17 days old, colic and baby acne start to occur so it is recommended to schedule your session before the two week mark for the best newborn images.
Due to the custom nature of this session I only book a limited number of newborn sessions each month so it is best to reserve your due date 3-4 months in advance to avoid disappointment.
Newborn sessions are scheduled mid-morning on either Mondays, Wednesday or Thursday between 9:30am and 11am and go for approximately 3 hours. Weekend appointments may be available should no other sessions be booked in. (i.e. Family, maternity & sitter sessions)
A $100 fee is applied for weekend newborn sessions. The studio is closed on Tuesdays and Fridays.
How Do I Book My Newborn Session?
As we can not predict the exact date your baby will arrive, what I do is reserve your due date (a deposit is required). Then as soon as your baby arrives I ask that you contact me within 48 hours to let me know that we can start scheduling a day for you to come out to the studio ideally before your baby is 14 days old.
If you are having a planned C-section or induction and your date has been set then we can go ahead and book in your newborn session for about 7-14 days afterwards. By pre-booking your newborn session it not only guarantees you a session but also gives you priority in the schedule over protentional client what could possibly call to book in after they have had their baby.
What Do I need to do to prepare for My Photo Session?
When you have booked your newborn session in with me, I will send you a detailed Email with information on how to prepare for your session along with what to expect during a session.
I have a variety of props ranging from baskets & buckets to little wooden beds as well as many headbands and bonnets available to you for your convinience. These will help customise your newborn session to fit your style.
*Newborns will generally cluster feed during newborn sessions.
Once your baby is well fed you can put your feet up and relax while I work with your newborn baby for a couple of hours.
Note: Parents please do hair and make-up prior to my arrival for your session.
